Jugurtha Boumali

Osteopath D.O., founder of Urgent-Osteo

Combining Health, Movement, and Balance

Originally from France, Jugurtha Boumali is a passionate osteopath now based in Montreal. A former high-level athlete and sports coach, he brings his deep understanding of the body in motion to his practice, offering a comprehensive, gentle, and effective approach to care.

Guided by the belief that movement is at the heart of health, Jugurtha helps each patient regain mobility, balance, and long-term well-being.

Graduated from the École d’Ostéopathie de Paris, Jugurtha received a complete five-year education covering all aspects of osteopathic medicine: structural, visceral, cranial, and tissue techniques.

Before settling in Canada, he co-founded Urgence-Ostéopathes in the Paris region — a clinic specialized in the treatment of acute and urgent osteopathic conditions. This experience allowed him to refine his diagnostic skills and to develop calm precision, even in complex or emergency situations.

Now practicing in Montreal at the URGENT-OSTEO clinic, Jugurtha welcomes patients of all ages — from newborns to athletes — offering individualized, attentive, and effective care. He is also a member of the Quebec Association of Osteopaths (AQO), a professional organization that upholds the highest standards of osteopathic practice in Quebec. His membership ensures that his care is safe, ethical, and evidence-based.

A Gentle and Adaptive Approach

Every patient is unique. Jugurtha tailors each treatment to the person’s body, history, and specific needs. His approach is founded on three key principles:

  • Efficiency – achieving meaningful and lasting results;
  • Gentleness – respecting the body’s rhythm and physiology;
  • Adaptability – adjusting techniques to suit each situation.

During each session, he combines structural, visceral, and cranial techniques to restore balance, improve mobility, and enhance the body’s natural self-healing abilities.

Areas of Expertise

Sports Osteopathy

As a former athlete and coach, Jugurtha understands the demands placed on the body by training and competition. He helps athletes of all levels to:

  • Prevent injuries;
  • Improve performance;
  • Support muscle recovery and flexibility.

Discogenic Pain and Spinal Conditions

Specialized in the management of discogenic pain and discopathies, he treats:

  • Low back pain, sciatica, and neck pain;
  • Herniated discs and related nerve compressions;
  • Postural imbalances and chronic mechanical stress.

His approach aims to reduce pain, release deep tension, and restore optimal spinal function.

Postpartum Osteopathy

Trained in postpartum rehabilitation, Jugurtha assists women after childbirth to regain comfort, stability, and mobility. He provides support for:

  • Pelvic and lumbar pain;
  • Muscular recovery after delivery;
  • Postural realignment and breathing patterns.

Pediatric Osteopathy – Gentle Care for Newborns

Jugurtha is also trained in pediatric osteopathy, offering gentle, precise treatments for newborns and infants. He helps relieve common conditions such as:

  • Infant colic;
  • Congenital torticollis;
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome).

His delicate, non-invasive touch aims to restore comfort, ease movement, and support the baby’s healthy development after birth.

Movement as a Philosophy

For Jugurtha Boumali, osteopathy is more than a therapy — it is a philosophy of movement. He believes that when the body regains its freedom, health follows naturally.

Inspired by his background as an athlete, he approaches each session with precision, attentiveness, and respect. His goal is to help patients rediscover fluid movement, inner balance, and lasting vitality.

A Practice Built on Listening and Trust

Each consultation is a genuine exchange. Jugurtha takes the time to listen carefully, to understand the source of discomfort, and to explain his approach clearly. His practice is grounded in empathy, transparency, and patient education.

At the end of a session, he often shares personalized advice — simple exercises, posture corrections, or lifestyle tips — to help patients extend the benefits of their treatment and take an active role in their recovery.

Who Can Benefit from Osteopathic Care?

  • Newborns: colic, torticollis, plagiocephaly, or discomfort after birth;
  • Pregnant and postpartum women: pelvic or back pain, recovery support;
  • Athletes: performance optimization, prevention, and recovery;
  • Adults: chronic pain, stiffness, stress, or digestive issues;
  • Seniors: mobility maintenance and improved comfort in daily life.

A Vision of Health and Harmony

Through his experience and holistic philosophy, Jugurtha Boumali aims to help everyone reconnect with their body, move freely, and achieve balance between strength and relaxation. For him, being an osteopath means guiding the body back to its natural state of balance, empowering patients to understand themselves, and supporting long-term health through movement and mindfulness.

Elisa Herenui

Osteopath D.O.

Movement as a Source of Balance and Healing

Born in French Polynesia, Elisa Herenui Fraysse grew up surrounded by movement and a natural connection to the body. From an early age, she developed a genuine fascination for physical activity and the body’s ability to adapt and express itself.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, she practiced trail running and Polynesian canoeing (Va’a) at a competitive level, experiences that taught her perseverance, body awareness, and the importance of balance between strength and fluidity.

Passionate about horseback riding, Elisa has also cultivated a deep appreciation for the relationship between the body, balance, and breath — an understanding that she now integrates naturally into her osteopathic practice.

A Strong Academic Foundation and a Global Vision of Care

Graduated from ISOSTEO Lyon, Elisa completed a comprehensive five-year education in osteopathy, combining scientific rigor with clinical experience.

She later specialized in two fields that reflect both her background and her values:

  • Sports osteopathy, to help athletes and active individuals prevent injuries and recover effectively.
  • Pediatric osteopathy, to support children’s development with gentle, adapted care.

Curious and open-minded, Elisa has traveled extensively, discovering new cultures and diverse views on health and wellness. These experiences have enriched her understanding of the human body and deepened her appreciation for the complexity of living systems.

Human Experience and Attentive Listening

Before moving to Montreal, Elisa worked closely with children with disabilities and patients in care facilities, encounters that profoundly shaped her view of osteopathy.

Through these experiences, she developed a deep sensitivity to nonverbal communication — learning to listen not only to words but also to the body’s subtle signals and emotional expressions.

This attentive approach defines her practice today: every gesture is guided by observation, respect, and a genuine desire to understand the patient’s needs.

A Practice Rooted in Movement and Individuality

Elisa practices a global form of osteopathy, combining techniques that restore motion and balance throughout the body. Her treatments integrate structural, visceral, cranial, and fascial approaches, tailored to each patient’s specific situation.

She views osteopathy as an alliance between movement, care, and individuality, aiming to guide every person toward a lasting harmony between body and mind.

Osteopathy for Newborns and Children

Specialized in pediatric osteopathy, Elisa also treats newborns and infants with gentle, precise, and non-invasive techniques. She helps address common conditions such as:

  • Infant colic;
  • Congenital torticollis;
  • Reflux and digestive discomfort;
  • Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome).

Her delicate touch helps release tension from birth, improve comfort, and support healthy motor development.

A Holistic Approach for All

Elisa works with patients of all ages and backgrounds:

  • Athletes, for performance optimization, prevention, and recovery;
  • Pregnant and postpartum women, to support the body before and after childbirth;
  • Children and teenagers, to address posture or growth-related discomforts;
  • Adults, to relieve chronic pain, improve posture, and restore mobility.

Each session is a genuine exchange. Elisa takes the time to explain her approach, share insights, and offer personalized advice — from exercises and posture corrections to daily habits — helping her patients take an active role in their well-being.

Professional Commitment and Ethics

Now based in Montreal, Elisa Herenui Fraysse is a member of the Quebec Association of Osteopaths (AQO), a professional organization that ensures the highest standards of safety, ethics, and practice quality in Quebec.

She continues to train regularly, expanding her expertise to provide her patients with precise, evidence-informed, and compassionate care.

A Philosophy of Movement and Connection

For Elisa, the human body is a living system capable of self-regulation — as long as it regains its natural freedom of movement. Her role as an osteopath is to support this process by restoring mobility, relieving tension, and promoting communication between the body’s different structures.

Guided by empathy, curiosity, and respect for life, Elisa brings a gentle yet effective touch to her practice, helping each patient reconnect with their body’s natural rhythm and potential for healing.

Lucas Manaranche, ostéopathe à la clinique Urgent-Osteo de Montréal

Lucas Manaranche

Osteopath D.O.

Move better, stay functional, take charge of your health

Lucas Manaranche is an osteopath at the Urgent-Osteo clinic in Montreal and a member of the A.Q.O. (Quebec Association of Osteopaths). Trained in France, he turned to osteopathy with a simple conviction: movement is essential to health, whether you are playing sport, working, or simply staying independent in everyday life. His role is to help each patient regain better mobility, taking into account their history, lifestyle and goals.

Training and background

A graduate of the CIDO in Saint-Étienne after five years of osteopathic studies, Lucas has been in practice for several years. He has worked in private practice, in a multidisciplinary clinic, and in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace. That range allows him to adapt to patients with very different profiles and needs.

In a multidisciplinary clinic, he cared for pregnant women alongside midwives and a gynaecologist, and treated infants — a practice that calls for an approach tailored to the child’s age, development and sensitivity.

His experience in workplace prevention led him to focus on everyday physical constraints: repetitive movements, prolonged postures, manual handling. He places pain back in its context and looks, together with the patient, for ways to keep it from returning.

Osteopathy centred on function and mobility

The aim of a consultation is not only to relieve pain, but to understand what is limiting movement and to give the patient back the ability to use their body fully. Depending on the situation, Lucas combines different osteopathic approaches: visceral, muscular, cranial and tissue-based.

“I take the time to explain what I observe and what may be contributing to the symptoms. A patient who understands their body becomes an active part of their own treatment.” — Lucas Manaranche

Sports osteopath in Montreal

Movement is also part of his personal background: nearly ten years of martial arts (karate, judo, jujitsu, MMA), four years of volleyball at pre-national level and, for the past two years, triathlon (swimming, cycling, running).

That experience gives him a concrete understanding of the demands of training, recovery, increasing training loads and returning to activity after injury. He also plans to deepen his work with runners through training with La Clinique du Coureur.

Who can consult Lucas?

Osteopathy is for everyone. Lucas notably treats:

  • athletes, both recreational and competitive, for performance, recovery and return to activity;
  • adults, for pain and limitations linked to daily life or work (back, neck and shoulder pain, MSDs);
  • pregnant women, at every stage of pregnancy;
  • infants and children, with a gentle, age-appropriate approach;
  • people who want to stay active and preserve their mobility over the years.

What a consultation involves

Every appointment begins with a conversation to understand the request, the context, and what is currently limiting the patient’s activities. The assessment and treatment are then adapted to their needs and goals. Beyond manual treatment, Lucas shares simple tools — movements, exercises, advice — so that everyone can better manage their body day to day.

Lucas practises at the URGENT-OSTEO clinic in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area of Montreal, and also offers home visits. Insurance receipts available.

Jean-Christophe Maillet, ostéopathe D.O. à la clinique Urgent-Osteo de Montréal

Jean-Christophe Maillet

Osteopath D.O.

Consultations in French and English · Urgent-Osteo clinic, Plateau-Mont-Royal · Fast appointments, including for acute pain

A vision of care rooted in listening and body dynamics

Passionate about health and the mechanics of the body, Jean-Christophe offers modern, personalised osteopathy that pays close attention to each person's needs. A graduate of the Institut Toulousain d'Ostéopathie after five years of training, he practised for several years in France and Australia, then in his own practice. His approach aims to identify the root cause of imbalances in order to bring fast relief, restore mobility and support lasting everyday well-being.

The turning point: from sports rehabilitation to a passion for osteopathy

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jean-Christophe played rugby at a good level for many years, while also taking a keen interest in other disciplines such as surfing and trail running. His understanding of movement comes from the field, but also from his university training: he holds a STAPS APAS degree (Adapted Physical Activity and Health), obtained in Nice, which trained him in movement analysis and exercise physiology.

It was during these studies that he injured his cruciate ligaments. The treatment of this injury and of the compensatory post-operative pain led him to discover osteopathy. Moving from patient to practitioner became an obvious choice.

He then joined the Institut Toulousain d'Ostéopathie (ITO) in Labège, graduating after a full five-year programme. During his studies, he wrote his thesis on disability sport (wheelchair basketball), deepening his knowledge of specific biomechanical constraints, movement analysis and the adaptation of therapeutic techniques.

An international background and solid hands-on experience

Curious and passionate about discovering other cultures, Jean-Christophe spent a year in Australia and a year in New Zealand. These experiences abroad shaped his listening skills, his taste for intercultural exchange and his adaptability. Today they allow him to care for his patients in both French and English.

Back in France, he worked numerous locums with very diverse patients: athletes, manual workers, pregnant women, older adults. He then opened his own practice, where urgent consultations made up a large part of his work: lumbago, stiff neck, blockages after exertion or an awkward movement.

This intensive hands-on experience, amounting to several thousand consultations, allowed him to consolidate his practice, sharpen his responsiveness to urgent complaints and master the management of a wide range of pain before settling in Montreal. It also means he knows when to refer a patient to a doctor or for further tests.

A global and targeted approach

At the Urgent-Osteo clinic, Jean-Christophe offers tailored treatment, combining different therapeutic approaches to adapt to each person's physiology:

  • Structural and joint techniques. Focused on restoring joint mobility, they quickly release mechanical blockages, ease spinal restrictions and restore range of motion.
  • Fascial and muscular techniques. By working on the tissue layers (fascia) and deep tension, they promote muscle relaxation and release established compensation chains.
  • Visceral and cranial techniques. Suited to easing internal tension and stress-related discomfort, they bring overall rebalancing.

All these techniques are adapted to each person: no manipulation is performed without your consent, and every technique is explained to you before it is carried out.

Education, listening and patient autonomy

Having been through the care pathway himself as an injured patient, Jean-Christophe puts dialogue at the heart of every consultation. He takes the time to explain where pain patterns come from so that patients understand how their body works. At the end of the session, he draws on his training in adapted physical activity to share practical, personalised tools: posture advice, mobility exercises and everyday adjustments. They extend the benefits of the treatment and help prevent recurrence.

Care adapted to every profile and every need

  • In daily life and at work: to relieve postural tension, acute blockages (lumbago, stiff neck) and the physical strain of demanding jobs (construction, restaurants, handling) or prolonged postures.
  • At the office and when working from home: for neck, shoulder and lower-back pain linked to long hours in front of a screen.
  • In your sport: to optimise recovery, treat overuse or compensation pain, and support you as you return to movement after an injury.
  • After knee surgery or a sprain: having injured his own cruciate ligaments, Jean-Christophe knows first-hand the compensations that set in after an operation (hip, back, opposite ankle). He supports these journeys alongside your physiotherapy follow-up.
  • During pregnancy: to help the body adapt to its changing shape, relieve lower-back strain and stay comfortable throughout pregnancy.
  • As the years go by: to keep joints supple, maintain fluid movement and preserve a good quality of life at any age.

Florian Lankar, ostéopathe à la clinique Urgent-Osteo de Montréal

Florian Lankar

Osteopath D.O.

More than 12 years of experience in osteopathy

A graduate of the École d'ostéopathie de Marseille, Florian has been practising as an osteopath for more than 12 years. He chose this profession above all for the human contact. For him, every patient is unique: he always starts by listening to understand where the pain comes from, then offers treatment adapted to the patient's history, lifestyle and goals.

A member of Ostéopathie Québec, he sees patients at the Urgent-Osteo clinic in Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal. He works with adults, athletes, children and pregnant women.

His approach

Florian sees osteopathy as a global approach. Pain in the back, shoulder or knee is not always where it appears: it can come from a compensation elsewhere in the body. During the session, he looks for these links in order to treat the cause and not just the symptom.

His techniques are gentle and precise, adapted to each patient. At the end of the session, he gives practical advice for everyday life: posture, stretches, simple exercises, movements to avoid. The goal is for the benefits of treatment to last beyond the consultation.

Sports osteopathy

A passionate rugby player, Florian naturally turned to sports osteopathy. He knows first-hand what the body goes through in training and competition: impacts, repeated loads, muscle imbalances, fatigue.

He supports athletes, from amateurs to experienced competitors, at every stage:

  • injury prevention and preparation before a season or a competition;
  • recovery after intense effort or a game;
  • return to activity after a sprain, tendinitis, or muscle or joint pain;
  • improved mobility to enhance sporting movement.

Rugby, running, hockey, soccer, racquet sports or the gym: he adapts his treatment to the demands of each discipline.

Paediatric osteopathy and pregnancy care

Trained in paediatric and obstetric osteopathy, Florian also cares for the most vulnerable patients.

Babies and children: Florian treats common issues in young children, such as tension after birth, colic or sucking difficulties. He also addresses discomfort related to growth and sport in children. He uses very gentle techniques, adapted to each age.

Pregnant women: during pregnancy, the body changes quickly and can cause lower back pain, sciatica, pelvic tension or digestive problems. Florian supports mothers-to-be to relieve this discomfort and prepare the body for childbirth. After the birth, he follows them to help the body regain its balance.

Common reasons for consultation

Florian sees patients for:

  • back pain: lower back pain, mid-back pain, stiff neck;
  • sciatica and neuralgia;
  • joint pain: shoulder, knee, hip, ankle;
  • headaches and neck tension;
  • postural problems related to office work;
  • stress, fatigue and sleep problems linked to physical tension;
  • follow-up of athletes and sports injuries;
  • follow-up of babies, children and pregnant women.

His background

After several years of practice in French Polynesia, Florian settled in Montreal with his family. This experience taught him to adapt to patients of all backgrounds and ages. Outside the clinic, he divides his time between sport and cooking, two passions that match his vision of health: keep moving, eat well and take care of your body every day.

Merci beaucoup, Amaury!

Osteopathy: a profession that listens to the body

Osteopathy is a manual therapy based on manipulating the various structures of the human body. Its aim is to identify the causes of symptoms in order to bring the body back into harmony so that it can function better.

Through precise palpation, the osteopath locates mechanical blockages in the skeleton, skull and internal organs. The body is considered to be an indivisible whole. Muscular and digestive disorders can therefore have repercussions on the whole organism.

The osteopath’s aim is not to treat the symptoms, but to determine the causes of your pain. Osteopaths are interested in your body’s history and any previous trauma that may have gone unnoticed.

Osteopaths play a fundamental role in preventing the risk of sports injuries and functional emergencies (sprains, lower back pain, sciatica). However, their field of action also extends to ENT problems, digestive disorders and psychological problems (depression, sleep, stress, etc.).
